can anyone tell me if its possible to fit a turbo on the standard 125bhp Mk4 GTI?-mines a 99 1.8 petrol engine-and is my engine the same as the 150bhp 1.8t? ,but obviously without the turbo fitted!) and if it is possible are there a better aftermarket turbo,s that can be fitted to it other than the standard vw item??-and any suggestions on any companies that could do it would be much appreciated
cheers

It's possible, but not worth the expense mate. They are completely different engines and would require a hell of a lot of work to turbo it.It'd be cheaper to sell up and buy a 1.8t.

Off topic but I saw a guy in his late 70's driving an R32 GTS-t last night... He wasn't flooring it, I purposly didn't overtake him because I knew he would just boot it past me but he was doing 55-60 in a 70 so when I overtook him I noticed it was an old guy! Big Jap exhaust on too :smug:
