Thanks jv.

Project "Scrub to Dub"

Well my project is my current daily.

A 1999 Mk4 GTi Turbo

It's got scratches and dents, a few pages full of faults on vagcom and it's got a few mods i'm not keen on.

I plan to over the next 12 months update this thread whenever I make progress and hopefully report on my fixes whilst making a few DIY guides to fixing them.

Below are the results from my VAG COM Session as dated.

Current modifications are:

Lowered 40mm on some cheap springs
BSA 17 inch Livewire wheels
Debadged front grill with inserts that arn't smoothed over and stick out like a saw thumb.

The car doesn't look too bad from the outside but when you get close to it you can spot the defects.
When its finished i'm hoping for 200+ bhp and show car status. Maybe not show winning status but a few subtle OEM+ mods to set it off nicely.

Here is the car as it stands now.

I will update as much as possible, Hope it provides fun reading for you all

UPDATE

Fixed rear window regulator motor myself thanks to the guide found on here!

Anyway...

Decided that if I was going to use my debadged grill I'd need to get it smoothed properly into the bonnet which I can't afford. Instead I decided to spray my old badge black. It's a popular mod on mk4's and I think it looks decent

Think it needs another coat but happy with it at the mo, planning anni lights next to give it more of a darker look. What you think?

Update

Bought a BMC CDA from Edition 38

I needed a union from the MAF to the CDA so I bought a rubber reducer

Here it is installed

CDA intake very close to standard intake - planning to get silicone hose from the cda to stock intake

Much better sounding and noticed better performance especially 3k+

Quick update

Been busy fixing and using as a daily. For its age and mileage done a 500 mile round trip without skipping a beat!

I fixed the following which i'll put pics on as soon as I can find cable.

New discs & pads all around
21mm rear spacers
Replaced ARB bushes as they were in terrible condition
Replaced ECU coolant sensor
Replaced Airbag module
Replaced Wheel speed sensor

Feels like a brand new car now, much better mpg and feels so much smoother!

I've bought a set of HID's off ebay so waiting to install them and an Audi TT short shifter.

Pictures to follow
