Title: Wipers / headlights
Post by: 16VWarby on 21 January 2009, 09:23
Just after i got the golf i was sat in heysham docks waiting for boat home, watching DVD in the back (clean unfortunately)  after this it has had a habit of flicking the wipers and trying to flash to headlights, i thought it was the battery a bit low after watching movies for 3 hours but it does it whenever it feels. and sometimes when im booting it, it does it. Any body had this?

Also is there supposed to be a sh*t guard for the underside of the engine as in the wet, water is thrown from the drivers front wheel right onto my crank pulley and the belt slips like fook. i wanted to tighten it right up and forget it but ists automatic tensioner.

Cheers
Nick

not sure about the wipers but yes you should have an undertray to stop stones, sh!t etc being thrown up

Right, without phoning my stealer anyone with a top of their head price, i have heard its a pig to do too, thankfully we are moving the tractor job to somewhere with a pit so it will make it easier.

you're looking at upto £100 for the undertray, different models had different trays for example they can range from a complete cover, to just a lip that deflects stones.

with the car on axle stands, fitting the tray is a really simple job
