Yesterday I changed the stalks from my mk2 (1990 gti 8v) to the mk3 stalks. Everything seemed to work great, except I noticed that my rear wiper wasn't working (it works 10 minutes before I swapped, I checked everything first). The washer is working, but the wiper wont move. Could I have forgot something, there is two wires (red and black) off the button, on the washer stalk that isnt plugged in, do they go somewhere? Any help would be appreciated.

button on the washer stalk? either it isnt a MK3 stalk or you have a cruise control one. If its not cruise you have a Polo or SEAT stalk, which has a button for washer or wiper control or something, a MK3 Golf has no button and works just like a MK2 one.

I guess its not a golf. when I bought it from the junkyard it said 'golf' on it. Any way I could make this work?

if you like chopping and splicing wires yeah, but why not just take it back and get the right one?
You want one like this:

Looks like yours has the same button on the wiper side. if its just the angle..which wires would I have to splice, any idea?

ah i was being a div
MK2/3 GTI ones have the MFA switch on the washer stalk, but this has 4 wires to it not 2. Still sounds like you have a Polo/SEAT one though as they do have a washer button on there!
I'm not 100% sure which wires you need, I assume if you check the plug to your washer stalk you should find some unused pins, and this is where you want to put your 2 spare wires. I dont have any diagrams to hand but if you REALLY want to do it the hard way I'll see what I can dig out :)

put the old un's back on!! It'll be easier  or get hold a set of mk3's
I like the square style tbh

Some Polo/Seat's have MFA buttins too, my Cupra does. Rear wash wipe works the same as a Mk2/Mk3 Golf, push on, push off, push and hold for wash. Faulty stalk IMHO, put your old ones back on, that'll confirm it.
