I think there were only around 500 syncro's made but havn't seen one as yet with a G60
the guy has no idea what it is.. so it may not even be a syncro. If it is, then it's most likely still running the chocolate setup from the carb version it was converted from.
approach with caution imo.

Yeah I mean at best its a synchro with the G60 engine but is that the same running gear as a Rallye?

no there are differences, mainly the rallye/g60 ltd stuff is more heavy duty. gearbox will be different, and obviously brakes.
seems a decent buy if it turns out to be as easy a fix as suggested in the ad - but then if it was really that simple, surely the seller would have sorted it first.
had a wee search to make sure i wasn't talking pish.

also there is a big differance between "some / all " of the rallye gearboxes compared to syncro ones the rallye gearbox (ASU) has a cast iron transfer case whitch is soposed to be stonger but it also has a sepearate oil to the gearbox holding only 0.5 ltr iirc so if an oil leack develops a small leack over time can destroy the transferbox, wheas the G60 gearboxes have ali transfercases and common oil supply so the transfer case can't run dry so easly

well it's RHD so it'll be running the ghey RHD manifold and downpipe. has all the tell tale sings of been a syncro, but it's proably got the chocalate rod change gearbox in there, so there is £600 + to spend converting it to 02C if you want reliable fun
