Fuel cap says...........................................................
2.1 BAR front, 1.9 rear. ;)
-
I see. I guess I must be reading my fuel cap wrong. I have 1.9 bar all round. 2.1 in the fronts? Isn't that too much?

nope - remember the golf's weight distribution is 60% front 40% rear so you need the extra pressure to compensate for the weight :nerd:
-
I will see to it that the correct 2.1 at the fronts and 1.9s at the rears are done ASAP. Thanks for all the help.
-
Checked my fuel filler cap again today. 1.9BAR front and back with 2 passengers and a suitcase. Full load 2.1 front 2.6 back.
Either my filler cap is wrong or you guys are. :undecided:
-
Can someone clarify this issue many thanks.

I've found that to be too soft
-
arrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh
-
I will prove this to you tomorrow it says 1.9 front and back
However I'm not saying it's correct as the ride does feel a bit too soft upfront. I'll give 2.1 bar a go at the fronts.
-
Anyone else?
-
Here you go!

I have now elected for the 2.1 BAR F and 1.9 BAR R as they did look slightly under inflated at the fronts.

Fuel flap from a bora?

Anyone else?
Bear in mind that you drive a 2.0 8v GTi where as I think the rest of us all drive 1.8T 20v GTi's... This could be why your filler flap says different...
Just for the record my flap shows 2.1bar front and 1.9bar rear. I run 31psi front and 29psi rear. I find these settings fine.

possibly but then i would have thought that mine would ask for higher PSI again due to the heavier diesel lump in the front :undecided:
-
Good point.... I will check my brothers 150 diesel and see what his flap says as they came with 16" wheels from the factory and see if mine and his are the same..
-
I'm glad I proved I wasn't such a worthless idiot afterall. Not sure whether to keep at 2.1 or not now.

Ok, I'll meet you half way - 2.0 it is!!! :D
-
I'm keeping them at 2.1BAR as long as this won't affect tread wear. What do you think?
-
My 150 diesel says 2.1 front and 1.9 rear too

Confirmed by player.777 that they are the same.
Running at 2.1 bar won't wear out the tyres. Its what I run mine at and they are wearing fine.
-
Even though 1.9 is recommended throughout on my car?
-
Just run 1.9 BAR all round, then! ;)
-
noooo i'm liking 2.1 at the front it feels better
