Title: I've managed to stop my indicators from working!
Post by: maurice-grage on 18 January 2009, 11:06

I only picked the car up yesterday!  Replaced the OEM stereo and now the indicators don't work!  They come on with the hazards which makes me think I have dislodged some kind of lead.  Everything else on the indicator stalk works just not the indicators (nothing displays on the dash when I try to use them)

Theres not much room to get my hand in to try and figure out whats come loose, is there any other way in? (that doesn't require taking too much off)???

HELP!

Yep, that's what is confusing me slightly as I can't actually see any wiring behind??

does the new radio work correctly?

i take it the job of fitting was a simple plug and play effort, maybe worth trying the radio without the illumination wire fitted (orange usually?) - suppose your manual will tell you

if you cant fix it there is always the old days yeah!

I have tried with the OEM radio back in and it still doesn't work.

But yes, the new radio was just play, play and squeeze in to fit (which makes me think its a cable issue)

Its just impossible to get hands in there!!

humour me on this but are the indicators part of a supercomputer - would it be an idea to disconect the battery?

No joy, interestingly though, if I leave the indicators on without the key in I get the warning noise so it knows they are on??

Try making sure the connection to the hazard switch is fully home as the flasher unit for the indicators is built in to it
