Got the dreaded rot around the petrol cap and since I'm planning on keeping the car for the long haul, figured I should get it fixed properly.
Does anyone know if an off the shelf repair panel is available, or do I need to find a shell with no rust in this area (a challenge) and then cut out the part I need ready for rewelding into mine?
Any help/suggestions appreciated
Thanks
Ian

There were some 3door arch panels on the bay for £10 each, not sure if they had the petrol cap filler hole.
or you can cut out the rot and weld in a replacement steel plate.
Put up a pic so we can see how bad it is.

If it's only that part that's rust, it shouldn't be too bad cutting the old one out and welding the new one in, providing you know how to weld ofc

I've just found some on ebay from Imperial panels, about £30 posted.
Definately better to graft in a panel than fiberglass it.
Hope this helps.
