my car is a 55 plate, so which do i choose? :undecided:
the reason i ask is that ive been searching for the cheapest prices for ages and £400 is the lowest i could find so i thought id buy them but they are only in 50mm
another place is selling the 55mm for £420
-
iirc you need strut diameter of 55mm for the gti.
-
Aye they are 55mm
safe bet serial no/reg no to VW dealer and they can confirm.
-
ok thanks, will go and ask them.. first thing tomorrow then i can order the konis, now 2find a cheapest price for the eibach springs

Seem to recall one of the VW mags that were reviewing the FSDs making the point that GTIs could have either size & the only way to be sure was to measure your existing dampers or check with the dealers.

The guys at Awesome have said that to date, they have only ever seen gtis with 55mm strut diameter.

Its just right, no rubs or problems. Remember I'm on 19's too
I was running on fumes, Mrs used the car and when I got it had 5miles left, dropped her in town and headed to Ashbourne station which had the cones out so was heading for Sir Frank station but remembered about the A6 one ... probably a good job really!

i contacted bigboystoys but they only deal in the early golfs, they said to try technik for the best price,
awesomegti is £410 so guess ill be giving them a ring..
i went to my local dealer and he said i would have to book my car in for them to measure the standard ones. i would of thought they would have the information on a database.. guess not

Just dug out my invoice from bigboystoys-uk and I remember why I went with them.. the FSD's were slightly more expensive @ £524 but it was during a deal where the H&R spring were free
I paid £539 including the dreaded and then 100notes cash for installation
