Hi, ive got a GTI 8v and am thinking of putting an exhaust system on but dont want it to be mega loud especially at motorway speeds, ive heard that jetex are meant to be quiet anyone had one? if not can anyone recomend an exhaust for me?
Thanks Dan

I had the 3 silencer version and found it anything but quiet. A Supersprint system fits much better, sounds much better and feels much better imo

When buying an aftermarket exhaust, consider the weight of the damn thing too. Jetex are not light and mine is causing me a few problems because of the weight, combined with lowered suspension.

Mine is Scorpian, doesn't weigh any more than std (lighter infact). Its got a nice tone to it, at 70 its noticeable, but doesn't compete with the stereo.
But when cruising, you can just stick the revs in the sweet spot and travel in silence anyway, only on uphills where you can really hear it.

I found the jetex to be a bit loud although it was fitted to a 16v
Ive also had a scorpion which i didnt really notice any difference with noise wise untill you were giving it some death

cheers for you help people im just tempted to change me exhaust im getting annoyed with the standard one atm, im tempted to buy an aluminise steel system becuase i dont see the point of a stainless one becuase ill doubt il have the car long enough to see the benefits

I had a Milltek on my last 8v and was just perfect IMO, so nice bass when you were pulling but never really too loud. Also liked it because you can leave the big shiney tailpipes off and it looks exaclty like a standard exhaust

Not a great picture but you can see it didnt protrude and look `boy racer`

Pricey mate, I think around £350-400 quid but it was well worth it - also if youre going to keep the car for a long time it will save you having to bother with the exhaust ever again as its a stainless system

Mine's uber boy racery - but it only cost £15 for a full stainless setup, so I ain't complaining in the least!
