Title: Suspension kits - new, but old...
Post by: Ryan S on 21 June 2004, 16:24
Hi all,

I've been offered a fully adjustable suspension set-up for my mk1 rocco from a mate - so it's cheap.

They are unused, but were bought about 5 years ago.
He never fitted them to his golf.

My question is - will this storage period have any affect on their performance when fitted to a car?

They have been dry stored, so I think they should be ok...

It's an AVO sport kit
He says they cost ?500+ when new...
Someone has already told me that AVO shocks have been known to leak - and obviously there's no warranty with them!
So has anyone got any experience with this set-up on their mk1?

Cheers,

Ryan

What condition are they in?
Any rust or damage?
Depress the shocks, if they are firm and even resistance then all should be fine.
