hi mate, i went to the piston heads show at NEC last week and i talked to a guy at a stand there about it because i have bee really
interested in it. When people think of NOS they think of fast and the furious, where u bush a button and the world goes blurry. yet
its not like that at all, when u press your accelerator pedal to the floor it then gradually builds in, they say get different shots, such
as a 50bhp shot, or 75 hp shot,
So this is where you have to be careful, the systems have to be fitted properly, i.e by wizards of nos or a company like that. Then you
have to make sure that you choose the right shot, or you will melt the engine. Standard internals on a 1.8t can take the 50bhp shot
with out a problem. I got a quote for the kit of 450 quid, fitting another 200 quid, and refill on the the tanks 65 quid a time. So its really
not cheap. I would just get the KO3s turbo or the KO4

Cheaper to get a permenant 50bhp 'shot' by getting a remap at £150 surely?

x2 NOS is quite uneconomical in the long term.

not really worth it unless you are running a big turbo, like a GT30 or sumert similar, then you only need a 50 shot or so to give the engine a boost while the turbo is spinning up to reduce the lag.
good friend of mine at adrenaline race and performance has fitted quiet a few, said the GT30 engined mk1 was a very impressive bit of kit with a 50 shot on, saying about the refills being expensive, it's only literally on for a few secs so a bottle will last a while, unless you drive everywhere flat out

I had NOS on my Saxo VTS was rapid was 145bhp with the exhaust and filter and 195bhp with the NOS on the dyno. Had the 5lb bottle and it only use to last a couple of minutes and wasnt cheap to keep filling them up. Just get a remap as someone else has already said.
