I have play in my O/S front trackrod end  For some reason none of my local motorfactors can supply me with one, more worrying is that they are all adamant the track rod and ball joint on the passenger side are separate, and I know they are not and trackrod/ball joint come as one piece.
The only place I can find that can get one is the local dealer who want £40 + Vat
Surely there must be somewhere on line i can get it from?
Can one of you guys point me in the right direction??
Cheers
Rich

I take it your driving a pre-90 version then?

Sorry chaps - cardinal sin of no vehicle details...
Yes, 1989 8v....
So you have to buy seperate? that will be why the motorfactor dont list it! had a right argument with them about it too... :lipsrsealed:
Mind you, not that they stock the rod, only the end...

all man8ual racks have a fixed passenger side track rod from the facvtory, PAS models have adjustible ones on both sides. The fixed rods were discontinued years ago, so you need to get an adjustible rod+end and set it to the factory length:

edit: this figure is for power steering, I know this is different from the figure quoted in the haynes (410mm). However I cannot confirm what length the manual track rod is on RHD MK2s, as the Bentley obviously is for LHD models, and Elsawin only covers PAS track rods. My advice is to measure the length of the fixed rod after you take it off and use whichever figure is closest to the old one :)

Cheers - inspecting mine a little closer it looks like its a seperated job already, so i may be able to get away with just getting a new joint; unless its seized up
Thanks for the info, i will ensure i set it to the correct length
