Just though I'd ask what are good steering wheels to put on a mk2 gti, obviously momo wheels work but is there anyone here that has put steering wheels from other cars on sucessfully.
I have been reading how the mk3.5 and mk3 fit and an older passat one I think, is there any others [even outside the vw family]?
Cheers

I've got a little Dino one? I have googled around but cant find out much about it - it does look good though...

sidecarphil - i have the same one.
Thats the best VAG wheel to fit to a mk2. Smallest too ive heard. Much better feel than the mk2 gti one.
you can find these in early vr6 mk3's and corrados

they wont fit an '87 mk2 will they?

I'm still on the lookout for one, I was supposed to get one for Christmas, but haven't found a good enough bargain yet.
I really want a Sparco one, don't know why

Yea I like the mk3 ones, i wish there was a way to fit a mk4 wheel.
I also looked at some momo ones but I don't know if they will suit the car, the only momo one i like is the evo one but then that looks a bit new age for an older car, plus its 200 quid inc boss it .

are the mk3 ones just a straight bolt on?

i hear if you have a later mk2 gti [not sure on the year] you can, but the older ones you need to switch the boss i think.... :undecided:

For those of you asking about fitments, the steering columns are the same size its just the later mk2s have a collar on them, you can fit the collar to the early mk2 columns which allows fitment of the later wheels
