Post by: Karloss on 15 January 2009, 20:58
Hey Guys

Any one know of any insurance companies that will take overseas years on a license as part of the form.

Ive changed my license to a UK one and its got the date that i swapped it with mine.
Not the date i received my license in Australia.

Any one know of any insurance companies that will accept the years on my aussie license aswell>>>???

if you declare it to the insurer they will probably tell you they "have to refer to the underwriters" who will either be in a good mood and say fine, but there is no way they can know about foreign licences and what is involved in the test etc etc. For all they know you may have held a licence for 2 years but never driven during that time, and overseas NCD is not applicable. So the chances are they may not take it into account. Different insurers will have different rules so it's worth checking.
