Title: Insurance
Post by: justin on 20 June 2004, 22:06
Can any of you out there recommend a good (cheap) insurance company. I currently pay ?700pa (TPTF) for my sportline cabby. I 31, with full no claims discount, no points or claims ever. My girlfriend (23, with 0% no claims) is also a named driver which pushes the premium up. Its up for renewal soon so can anyone recommend anyone?

Cheers

I went with NIG through Adrian flux and im only paying 700 quidish for TPFT with one years no claims and having a full liscencse for just over a year.  But i think they are more specialised for modified cars, young irresponsable drivers.

I think my brother is with elephent and has a low premium.

Cheers for the replies guys, didn't really have time to shop around when i bought the car, needed insurance quick (i bought the car one weekend when i was in London for a fantastic price) and had to get back to sheffield the same day.

i moved the golf from Aplan to Adrian Flux two weeks ago. Saved a ton in the process. If they bothered answering the phone, i would of stayed.

I have to admit that is very surprising!! They have been great to me for a few years now and have always been cheaper by a huge difference. I think my premium speaks for itself though - 30 years old and Fully comp for ?250 when I have 6 points!, the closest competitor was over ?50 more!

adian is def cheap, however i do think there's a reason for it. i was with them few years ago an same kinda probs, takin ages for cover notes wrong details nothin major an they were ?200 cheaper than anyone else. i really need them now after my accident i hope they prove me wrong

hello.  :)

Been with Admiral (same company as Elephant) for a couple of years now.

Shopped around others (including Adrian Flux) and Admiral were by far the cheapest for me.  ?600 fully comp, even with my (fairly minor) mods.  Got 3 yrs no claims.

Rich

P.S. I'm 24

elephant came up cheapest by atleast 100 quid when i rang around to get a quote for my cab. im 26 with no ncb.

would have gone with them but they added loads more on because i didnt want to pay all at once.  using instalments brentacre were much cheaper and there definately worth getting a quote from  ;)
