Got everything else to go on apart from a new master cylendar, hopefully getting that at dinner time today. Woot!
I have no money left though
-
C'est combien?
-
Nice! I got a replacement Heater motor for the Rado and some photography business cards., oh and lots of bills. Not as exciting as yours.

Have i missed something, i thought your car was just a daily runaround?
-
Want. Gimme.
-
It'll be more exciting than a daily runaround one day
I think it is important and sensible to get the brakes/suspension etc etc sorted before doing an engine swap.
I was going to go for the G60 280mm set up but thought, sod it why screw about with that when you can just buy a brand new kit? (it makes sense in my head!)

Wilwoods are awesome little brakes!
Do they fit standard 8v discs?
-
They don't look cheap! Nice purchase.
-
Had some of them on my 2.9 mk2 wiv 320mm discs
Absolutely, 100%, without question the best part of the car. Was outbraking Scoobys and even Caterhams at C'Combe with those. Effin awesome.
(Useless cold though  )
-
Good buy Kittie. Definitely a good idea to upgrade the brakes before doing an engine swap.
-
Damn they are nice.
Need bigger wheels now
-
260mm they are and fookin' expensive for the kit
But I'm sure they'll be worth it
Lucky Cow
-
radial mounted too
you can change disc sizes without buying new calipers
loverly buy , really like them
-
Bigger wheels not necessary, I don't believe in anything over 15 inches on a mk2 I'm afraid!!
Hopefully getting fitted tomo, will post up impressions afterwards! It's almost a shame they'll be quite hidden behind my E30 alloys
Fingers crossed for ok weather this weekend for the Snake Pass Test
-
I hope you plan on bedding them in before you do that!
-
What in all bu99ery are you going to fit to the front of your Golf to mean that 280mm VAG brakes aren't sufficient?
Those seem a little pointless to me, but it's your dollar. How do they mount up to the hubs then?
-
you get a nice alloy bracket that bolt's to the hub
like this

then if you want to get bigger discs you just add spacers and longer bolts
-
YAY they are finally on. They are awesome, no more sloppy pedal with the new master cylendar too!
Had to have 3mm spacers on to get the wheels to clear the buggers, I was worried I might have scraping issues but thankfully it seems ok so far!
They look the nuts too
The trackings all over the place at the moment though so have to get it aligned tomorrow, boo.
Also, the 16v hubs I got to replace my 8vs came with calipers/discs/pads so I have those and my 8v hubs to sell on now
