OK simple question... The connector to the ecu; does it just 'clip' into place like most electrical connections or is there a screw or something on the back side holding it in? I've just tried removing mine but it seems attached at the back and there is no clip there like there is on the front side to push out to release it. Not the best time to be trying to sort it I'll admit, cold, dark and holding a torch in my mouth!

IIRC its just a really tight push-in clip. I just used a screwdriver to gently prise it back of the retention clip.
Again... IIRC

there is a metal clip once side which you release, the other side has a plastic lug which is huuked up and under a latch. To release it you have to remove the entire ECU bracket then twist the cable untill it releases.

Bug*er, nothings ever simple....! Tried moving the bracket last night, won't budge.
Thanks for the info Jonny!

theres a wee 10mm plastic nut, then you have to give it an almight shove towards the rear of the car to pop the clips off. its a right sod

Ah, I saw the bit's it slots onto but not the actual bolt. Probably buried under all the compost I've got sitting in there....
