Guys, some of you might now been pretty close to a nervous breakdown recently about which alloys to have on my car. The GF, two nights ago, put me on a 1-hour-per-night time limit on the internet, and actually sited my obsession with the computer (and she also named this site- by name) as a reason (that if we ever got married) we would get divorced!! I was beginning to worry a bit myself as to how long i'm on this blo0dy thing for!
Anyway, following on from a thread the other day, and muchos thanks to whoever suggested this, but I have only gone and bought the following: I wanted to keep a subtle OEM look, and these things are as close as damn it to Monty2s, whilst being a larger rim:

Going to pick them up tomorrow- nice little 4 hour drive up to manchester. aahh can't wait!.. anyway so now the deed is done, what do I actually need to make these mothers fit my golf? Also, bit of a strange one having different tyre sizes, spoke to a cop friend and its fine legally, but do you think the 235's should go on the back (like he had) or front?? And finally, can anyone recommend (first hand) a good alloy refurb place north of the m25?? or actually anywhere down south- will travel if they're worth travelling to. Thanks guys- its a real relief to finally be getting this show on the road!!

LOL thanks!! But thats not very helpful now is it!!!

nice choice, that style really suits the MK4 and the split rim sets them apart from the standard GTI rims (Monty IIs) and @ 17" you get the style without paying that big a hit on the economy, acceleration, ride quality etc

Thanks a lot. Looking forward to getting them on the car- especially when it's lowered. So the PCD adapters I need- are these the ones-
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FK-PCD-Adaptor-Wheel-Spacer-5-112-5-100-AUDI-VW-SEAT_W0QQitemZ400023688989QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item400023688989&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
Is 15mm the depth of the adapter- isn't this effectively like having a 15mm spacer?? Will that be ok for under the arches??
-
Think the ones you posted are 112 x 5 to 100 x 5 you want 100 x 5 to 112 x 5 :undecided:
15mm should be fine whats the offset on the wheels??
I'll be running 15s rear and 12s front soon
-
This (http://www.venommotorsport.com/product_details.php?id=20&manufacturer=FK&category=Wheel) is what you want but they dont have 15mm in stock and are a bit dearer,
Try DPM Performance (http://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/) they sell H&R and their the ones I'll be going for
Edit just saw the price for them on DPM dont think you'll want to be spending £300 on adapters :embarassed:
-
LOL uumm no not really!! So, sob sob, back to searching on the internet then!! Will this never end???
-
You've been served a ban by the missus and you only have 143 posts. WTF other sites are you on
