I was out today and I noticed a mk2 going the other way with chrome trim around the window seals, and I wondered if this was custom or did VAG ever make chrome window trim? (and more importantly, if so is it hard get hold of :D)
thanks
-
they did do it on some golfs.
its hard finding a good conditionn set i would have thought
-
yeah i looked into this and its an itegral part of the window trim on early cl's and gl's. i gave up cos v expensive fromn vag (if they even still do it) and its hard to find any in good nick. believe me!
-
haha I'll give up before I start looking then ;D thanks
-
there's a 5 door golf with later doors with this trim in my local scrappy. if this is any good to any one i'll have a better look and try and get it. i think the wing mirror mounting plate needs to come off as well.

the chrome is an integral part of the rubbers, you need both for it to fit properly
-
are the small bumpers with chrome trim equally as hard to find? I've gone off big bumpers but normal small bumpers seem a little bare ;D
-
yeah but not as hard they crop up on ebay from time to time tho
-
Not to mention GSF sell them as well!
-
GPC do them to!! I know cos I got 'em!!
-
awesome :D, never realised you could buy them new
anyway I just realised that the chrome window trim probably wouldn't fit my car, since I have a late Mk2 with the different mirror placement, and I'd assume that the window seals would be different?
