Title: Can I lacquer alloy? as in my center BBS caps?
Post by: Vdubbster on 13 January 2009, 17:21
Basically the BBS center caps (RC Alloys) are covered in a plastic, this eventually cracks and lets water in, this starting the whole thing to corrode!

So I removed all the plastic and re polished it up :-) :

Put it back on the car and two weeks later I looks like this:

SO, If I polish again, can i lacquer it?

you can but it needs to have a key for it to stick to (half the reason the factory laquer lifts) so a polished surface isn't great to laquer over. you want to get it clear anodised realy. look in the yellow pages/google for local places that do electroplating.
