Any reason for it?

Can't help thinking why not as long as its a cable clutch and the master cylinder is in the same place.

There's nothing that won't with without a little fabrication ;)

Basically, my step dad's Mk2 driver got written off a couple months ago. He paid silly money to get a special pedal made so he can accelerate with his left leg. (He lost his right leg in a work accident). Sooooooooo, he needs to urgently buy another car, but Mk2 autos are quite scarce. Was thinking about a Mk3 instead. Just wondering if the pedal set-up was the same.

not quite no, the brake pedal has a different attachment.  it depends what was done to modify the pedals though, the modded bits may swap to a base MK3 pedal box?
