Evening people, have been looking at changing my rear wiper for a while now and was maybe looking at going down something different to the trusty rear aero wiper mod.
Seen on another site a few people have fitted Audi A4 Avant or Skoda Fabia rear wipers. Anybody heard of these or seen any completed?
Any views or pics would be welcomed gratefully.
Please help me spend my hard earned!!!

the Fabia was a popular mod before the MK5 aero wiper
known issues with that was it would catch the rear spoiler (if you have one)
-
yeah I read that the fabia caught the rear spoiler, havent got one at the moment but will hopefully be getting an R32/Anni style one fitted soon. Think you have to combine parts from the avant and fabia in order to obtain clearance enough to miss the spoiler.
Just thought it looked a good alternative to the norm whilst also keeping oem parts/looks.

indeed and its not frequently seen anymore due to the MKV wiper - perhaps retro is the future

The avant one of that link looks excellent. I have the aero wiper and am happy but could be tempted by this- although isn't it a lot more expensive to do??!? Don't you have to buy multiple parts from all over the place?? Also, is it too long looks wise?? mmm not sure

Apparently the total of the four parts needed comes to around £20ish, just a bit of a ball ache going to separate dealers! Im currently doing a search for the necessary part no's but feel free to have a look yourself?
I am tempted myself definately, the link pic does look awesome

Well if it £20 then thats pretty good- would be interested to hear how you go with all this. I'm sure i read the wipers are £20 each, then a fiver for something else?? so 45 in total- although that could be just my rubbish memory having a joke at my expense!?!

not really - your local dealer should be able to order the parts - mine can order VW, Seat, Audi and Skoda -all the same group remember

Parts needed
Skoda Fabia rear wiper arm: 6Y69554535
Skoda Fabia centre cover: 6Y6955707
Audi A4 Avant wiper arm: 8E 9 955 407 B
Audi A4 Avant wiper blade: 8E 9 955 425 C
You need to order the parts shown above.
Remove the centre mount, centre cover (washer cap) and spring from the end of the Audi wiper arm and replace these pieces with the Å koda ones.
You end with the Skoda mount (which bolts to the tapered shaft on the glass) / Skoda centre cover (washer cap) / Skoda spring / Audi wiper arm and Audi wiper blade. All these units fit together to make one unit.
I'll give Brundles King's Lynn a ring in the morning and post back some time tomoz.
Appreciate your views/comments.

This is my old 4Motion with the Skoda Fabia wiper fitted. It had to be modified to clear the spoiler though!

Looks pretty neat, when you say modify it to fit, how did you do this? Got no spoiler on at mo but will have asap so will need it to clear.

I had to cut the moulded end off, cut the wiper down a bit (no more than 3cm) and then rebond the moulded end on. If you look at the pic you can just see a line at the end of the wiper arm where I did it.
