Not that I know of, I rarely have mine at 4 or 5 as it does get rather hot. I normally use 2 or 3 when I need the seats on.

Ye i've not heard of a fault regarding this. But i agree, I've never used above 3 because I find even that to be really warm. What setting do u have it on whitegti?

I use 2 or 3. Whenever anyone sits in the car for the first time, I whack it up the max and see what happens.

Girls love it!

Girls love it!

Do they make the same "ooh!" sound that everyone makes when they discover the electric lumbar support?

No. They haven't figured it out yet plus I don't bother telling them. They're too excited for heated seats.

Just thought of a mod. Any way we can wire in some sort of timer so when we go to work in the morning if its cold heated seats will kick in 10 mins before   I think they might only work off the ignition though? Wonder if such a thing could be done.

A mate of mine had an old beemer 750 which had a complete timer system for the hot air to come on up to 30mins before you got in the car. Nice!

In the manual there is mention of something like a pre-heating system, probably an option in Scandanavia or something.... Wish we had it too, bloody need it in Scotland....even in summer!

I don't find this, my leather heats up pretty much immediately. particularly at lower settings for some reason.

Took a female friend out for a run in the car. Turned the heated seat up to 5. At first she didn't say anything. A couple of minutes later she remarked that she had got a warm wet feeling on seat. At first she thought that she had wet herself and was really embaressed!!!! Oh err  Missus

yes they start heating straight away but take 5 mins to get real hot, but i noticed today that on lower setting seems to heat up quicker. But the ed30 was red hot almost straight away and used to make bolsters feel like they had gone colder as leather takes longer to heat and took 5 mins to catch up heat wise with the material center

That was sitting on a COLD surface and it is just a rumour. There is no medical evidence to prove that this is the case.

Carl, im sure your right, as i've never had the cloth seats before. i dont really like mine being very hot as i feel like iv messed myself so thats probably why im content at the lower heat the seats give out early on.

Hi guys... Mine set usually on 3, occasionally on 5 if it’s brass monkeys. I had a heated seat base replaced in my old 4-Motion it got very hot you could smell burning. Easy to do but not cheap. I couldn’t live without heated seats now.  ps I’ve got piles

I usually keep mine on between 2-3 but whack it up to 5 when I get in the car and it's really cold.  My old car had leather seats and I found that I needed it on 4-5 most of the time but with the cloth seats they seem to get hotter.
