The designers of the mk1 worked on it in the evenings and weekends because the project wasn't argeed on.

i dont agree with ur theory there diz. my cars a Y but i got an A at GCSE :P

im not too fond of the new sig either. how bout incriminating just urself for speeding and leaving that innocent person in the yellow cab out of it  :o  ;)

Oh and I did know............got the full write up here.....the circumstances surrounding the production of the original mk1 Golf GTI were amazing ;)

Where would VW be today if that hadn't happened?
