Hi guys, I want to get a double din sat nav unit and have been condsidering the MFD unit or an aftermarket one (preferably one that looks OEM). The only one I can find that, in my opinion looks OEM, as there are no bright blue knobs, flashing lights, and looks quite standard is this:

Now I know its cheap but the guy is near me, and can fit it, so with a guarantee, I'm hoping it will be ok. OR I go for the older MFD- now I don't know a lot about this unit, VWnavi doesn't explain it very well- it is an all-in-one unit?? or do you have to buy seperate bits for it to make it complete?? Are the GPS maps for it quite old now?? Thanks for any advice on this.

i would choose aftermarket as the optional items you can add eg i pod etc is wider

so does the MFD actually play CDs/ DVDs?? Or are these extras eg cd changer in the glove box or something?? Can it play a CD while sat-navving?? this aftermarket one can.

It can't play DVDs at all and as far as I know the sat nav runs off of a CD, so no music CDs while using the sat nav.
