right im anticipating the worst just in case my problems get worse.

I have a 9a engine in my mk2 gti. Which gearbox can i use? In case the worst happens to my current one.

Any mk2 mk3 box? How about a vr6 one?

Any mk2 gti box will be ok (020), a 16v box will need to use a 16v centre plate. VR6 ia a different bell housing and a cable shift, lots or work to fit a 02a box.

So i take it a 2.0 16v mk3 gearbox is a no no aswell.

I assume the mk2 16v box is the best one to go for?
