Title: Coolant hose part number help
Post by: james_16v on 09 January 2009, 19:56
Hi
My coolant woes continued today with me losing coolant from a split hose.
The hose in question is the one with 3 connections that attaches to the top of the oil cooler, the water pump(?) and a flange above.
I cant seem to find the part on GSF but eurocarparts seem to sell what I think is the correct hose but it is £35.95!.
Could someone point me in the right direction with part numbers, prices etc as im desperate to just get the car sorted now.
Car by the way is 1.8 GTI 16v
Cheers in advance.

if eurocar parts think it is that pipe then get it from them and if it is wrong simply take it back and tell them its wrong, it may be quite expensive but i would be paying it to get my gti back on the road

Some of the hoses are metal inside, which makes them expensive - perhaps its one of those?  By the way, the parts system in a GSF branch (as opposed to their online catalogue) has photos of each part that they can show you to help locate the right part.

Thanks for the replys.
Found the part on GSF website (Part number - 17980 if your interested) and after a phone call confirming the part was in stock and a 40 mile round trip ive come back empty handed as they didnt actually have one there!
Its the second time theyve done that to me, im not impressed needed to get it done for Monday.
Just ordered one of the website so will be fitting it in the cold and dark Tuesday/Wednesday night.
