what car is it?
if its a mk2 then just take it along to the alignment place and tell them you want it tracked straight ahead with 1.5degree negative camber on each front wheel

1989 mk2 1.8 16v,, Is tracklng alignment,? is that the same as a 4 wheel alignment. Could a magnetic degree finder work? I put new front struts in.

Camber is adjusted in the same way as a Golf2.
You will need to take it somewhere like Protyre to get the front wheels properly aligned.
Personally I think 1.5 degrees negative camber would be a bit much for day to day use - it'll hunt on tramlines more than you might like and it you spend a lot of time on motorways it'll wear the insides of the tyres down too fast. -0.5 degrees would probably be happier in day to day motoring.

cool, I went to get a alignment, the mechanic, said that there is too much play rear wheel bearings and it won't align. Is this possible or was he scared  to do a mk2 gti? I'm thinkin, since it's not a honda civic  The poor lad.

well there aint anything you can do to align the rear (well, nothing an average spanner monkey at an alignment place can do anyway)
All you can do is get them checked, and make sure nothing is bent.

If you nip the hub up a touch tighter you might get the play out of it.
Make sure the bearings aren't binding though.

can you tell me if this aplies to corrado 1.8 16v aswell please?

Same set up, so yes, that will make it turn in dead-keen.
However, as already said, it'll likely cause wear to the shoulders of the tyres, so -0.5 to -1.0 should be used on the road.

Try this lot (http://www.protyre.co.uk/outletsdesc.aspx?Id=11063&postcode=B1).
There might be one closer to you, so maybe type in your postcode to see.
