Title: Petrol in Oil ???
Post by: Grazy on 08 January 2009, 20:44
Hi guys , I have just bought a J plate 8 Valver 140 k on the clock ,
The car has been stood for around 18 months and upon smelling the dipstick there is a smell of petrol in oil , Is this normal for a standing car  or could it be a problem .
I was gonna change oil and filter for cheap stuff , put some red X type stuff in it . Run for 50 miles of so then drop oil out againand put new oil and filter in  :undecided:

What you people think ,, New to this and need help please ,, Thanks in advance

Hi
Did you take it home on a trailer?
If yes, then do not forget to put some drops of oil through the plug holes and turn the engine over by hand BEFORE you try to start it.
