Title: Advance for Lenso BSX
Post by: Mr. K on 08 January 2009, 14:30
I plan to purchase a set of BSX for my 8V GTI, & consider 7.5x16. Is it too wide? And what offset should I go for? ET25 or ET38?

So many factors! How low, what size tyres, what 'look' you are after, whether you want to roll the arches etc

195/45/16s and et25 would work best for me :)

for 16's on a normal mk2 you'll want the et38 or you'll be cutting the arches big time with et25

different story on a rallye ;)

My advice is don't bother!

They have a really bad reputation for corroding really badly, really quickly.

If your buying them at new price, you could get a decent set of genuine RM's, and i know which one i'd rather be rolling on.

This is more or less on topic...

Are Ronal's a respected wheel, or they judged to be either   a) poorly made,  or   b) a chavvy cheap-imitation.  I like them!

I think theyre well nice, my mates got them on his polo, 7.5J with at least a 1.5" dish, 4x100 only and also 15"s.

His seem good nic, benifit from locable centre caps so noone can nick them too!

If it was me Id have the centres a diff colour but Id def chose them over Lenso's

They corrode really badly.. oops. i use them as my winter wheels.

There lacqured and aslong as the rim is kept polished and Protected with wax/seal, they will be fine.

I went for et38. needed 5mm spacers to clear the coilovers though.

Et38 would be better than et25, I have heard a few stories about them rusting quickly, Ronal LS is a better wheel.
