Title: Agreed Value Insurance
Post by: JC on 07 January 2009, 20:42
Anyone else ever bother to get it ?????

All i have to do is send in at least 6 piccies, a load of info and a figure, £11 later ( as long as they agree ) I will get full value if owt happens.

Thoughts / views / experience of such things

Thanks in advance

I have agreed. Worth doing if the car has had expensive mods.

Norwich Union wouldn't do an Agreed value for me! I told them the car's value at what I would get an agreed value at.. But said they don't do them.

Shame as I'd like an agreed value, but would have to wait until my renewal to go with someone else!

You'll find a lot of the general insurers will not offer an Agreed Value option - it's too complicated for them and not really their core market. It's much more likely to get a worthwhile deal through a specialist insurer such as HIC as it's one of their options. Had it on my Mini after I had it restored but thankfully never had to use it.

Mines on an agreed value with HIC.... book value is always pointless!! and fighting over a payout isn't easy!!
It's worth checking you have salvage retention too (keeping all the bits you've added)
