Fux!
On my way home tonight, I realise the drivers side beam is not right at all so I get out and have a look around the car and the entire area of the car park... nawt.
Is the glass part just glued to the rest of the headlight unit? at least the beam pattern didn't upset any other road users! (no flashes and didn't get pulled by the rozzers I passed!!!)
Oh I also noticed the first attempt at starting my car it was like the battery was dead, but 2nd time it came on no probs, would the glass being off effect the battery charge? Should I take the bulb out over night?
-
can pick these up from the bay for around £20 new. or ive got 2 used ones few stone chips ect lying about for postage cost.
-
this happened to me but the glass was on the floor of the car park un-broken so a quick fix with some superglue and its stayed ever since!
-
I stripped, cleaned mine out and then put a bead of no more nails around the outside before pressing the glass back into place
-
Your lucky, Mine was not in the works car park or my parking space at home
Musta come off on the way in.
So do I need to disconnect my bulb to stop the battery from getting drained overnight?
Oh I also HAVE do use my car tomorrow because my mates car is going in for MOT... otherwise we got no way to get into work
-
missing glass is not going to affect you battery in anyway. if you driveing in the rain with headlights on the bulb will more than likely fail tho
-
Poor stating is probably due to the cold weather, nothing to do with headlamp bulb,,, new lamp units are around £17ish from GSF and are genuine Hella brand, check your other lamp asap, they tend to go in pairs

Heheh, the glass on one of my T25s fell out during an off-road event - I managed to find that one whole
Another much missed bus:

Don't say that thom!
Let's hope it doesn't rain tonight/tomorrow and Chuff can find one in his garage of spares so I can pick up en route home tomorrow  oh and let's pray my mates ST pulls through on the MOT tomorrow so I can get a lift to work on Friday (almost typed Thursday, Wishing my life away I am!)
-
That off road bussing looks fun
-
sure i have a pair in the garage Jay, but I had just put the old bed and new bed boxes in front of the golf - will unpack the garage at lunch and let you know
-
Cheers buddy :afro:
-
I wish I saw that bus
And I wish I saw the 2.2 pickup running /properly/.. though the one time in it did give the idea.. and still tot his day makes me want a t25 pickup..
-
Cheers for the headlights Chuff and changing the fubar'd one for me :afro: My mate like your car and was shocked at how low it was  I told him to chuck in the ST and join the dubbin' way, but after his last car (12yr old MR2) he doesn't want another old car because his MR2 broke down 3 or 4 times in the month he had it
-
now worries, you will have to check the headlite aim mate, I knew i forgot to do summat :lipsrsealed:
-
I said to my mate, hmm the beam doesn't look quite right... oopsy! Never got flashed by anyone so can't be causing any distress. We could both smell something electrical burning, or at least we thought so. I pulled over and we smelt the entire car and all seems fine, might have just been the stench of Brightwell cum Sotwell
I'll take it too a garage Saturday to have the beam adjustment done as I've got nothing to compare it against
-
erm, the other one . park 6 ft back from a wall, and see what level the beam is compared to the other - adjust accordingly
-
tar :afro: I'll be paying a visit to the in law's they've got the perfect spot!
Might get the other one on and clean up the old one up while I'm at it...
