Mat_ed30 has sold the S3 cooler before for £250 as supplied with the pipes etc you need, but £425 fitted isn't really bad at all
Are you having the Autotech HPFP?

Yeah a thought it wasn't bad for that plus it'l be 2hr fitting all in i'd imagine
Think its the Autotech pump Hurdy I forgot to ask was trying to drive a digger at the same time Not a good idea  lol
A take it when the pump gets fitted the car will get mapped again?
-
Mat's Supplied S3 IC was £276 all inc.

I'd check first.
I had the Autotech HPFP and a Custom-Code remap and it cost over £700.

Are you just running a Cat back milltek? curious why you haven't got the d/pipe espec if your gonna get the s3 i/c & hffp.
Does Jim reckon you will improve on the 321bhp your quoting in your sig?

Yeah Cat back just now when a first phoned jim last feb about getting the full turbo back miltek he talked me out of it saying there was bother with some mk 5 gti's lamda sensor's coming on :undecided: and that he would fit it but if the light came on I had been told about it incase a queried it! So ended up coming off the phone with the car booked in to get the catback and full Giac map! And at the time my mate had not long fitted the full miltek system to his s3 so I wanted to wait and see if the sensor would come on with his before I commited. A year on and its been fine  Soo its just a case of funding now a did think about getting the s3 cooler and downpipe instead of the pump Hopefully its the next mod  He didn't give me figures but did say I would get more mid range with the pump When its up al see if he can put it on the rollers. But even with 321bhp the cars quick!!!!
What bhp is your?
-
I have a few r/r runs ranging between 305bhp on pump file @ Awesome, 312bhp race file @ Star.
now that was before the s3 I/C & autotech fuel pump were added so who knows. But Iam really wanting a new zorst before Crail starts up again.

Were you down at Awesome what did you get done there? 312bhp ain't to shabby  Jim said to me the 2.0fsi's are bad for heat soak cause when he got to 321bhp on mine he was goin to try again but said it wasn't worth it due to the temperature and that was in Feb he done it so the outside temp was 3 degree's which was good! But hopefully once the s3 cooler is on it will make some difference
Aye you can't beat the miltek sounds the bizz  Where abouts are you from?
-
I was at Awesome for the forum r/r day but i got an ECS dogbone mount fitted to justify the visit lol.
I am from West Lothian, judging by your sig pic you visit crail too
I keep meaning to buy a heat shield for my dbilas to help the heat soak.

How much was the Ecs dogbone mount and do you notice a difference when fitted?
Yeah been up at Crail a few times not had the Ed 30 down the qaurter up there yet  That photo was at Gti International in june lst year!
Aye there bad for heat soak the 2.0fsi's
-
I think it was £35 fitted, its been worthwhile as the engine will take a fair bit of smacking around.
I am to change a few other mounts to as Iam hearing a few modded MK2 Cupras are having issue with their OEM mounts.

-

Yip 2.0fsit are bad for heat soak and when it got mapped I was advised to upgrade the cooler

Mapped ed30 should be fine and shouldnt be suffering heat soak in this weather .
When it gets warmer i knock the boost down a touch with the revo select plus switch . As for dp its a very worthwhile mod and will help the turbo get rid of the hot gases quicker, turbo will also spool up a little quicker

Yeah I no tis Baltic just now  Only Issue now is Traction  Am still thinking the same about the downpipe and cat yet If its not to hard to fit I can see me purchasin it and doin it myself

Toast, if you wanna join us at the pod then you are very welcome, i live in lancaster and will be traveling down the M6, there are about 15 of us northerners meeting at krispy kremes at the trafford center and convoying down. i can meet you around lancaster thow and drive down to manc to meet the rest.
also with regards to the S3i/c, i got mine off mat and fitted it myself, if you have instructions then it pritty easy, took me about 4hours taking my time with not much mechanical experience, so save a bit of money towards a new mod

Hey guys thanks for the info  I'm really wanting to come down to this now just trying to persuade some of my mates to come down with me. Was talking about it last night in the pub with some of them 1 of my mates heads down there quite regular for the Vauxhall show and said it probably worth staying the night on Sunday!
josegti thanks for the invite I may take you up on the offer  Are your group heading up and down on the same day or staying over?? Also is just a Vw day or other types? I would of maybe went down the route of fitting myself but Jim at Star is pretty good with me  Another mod I may do myself is the downpipe, cat if its an easy diy as I've been told not to fit it as my standard 1 is more than adequate :undecided: Anybody fitted it??
Toast
