Title: Fuel hose
Post by: Lap on 05 January 2009, 09:40
Happy New Year all.

I want to replace a fuel hose under the bonnet. It's the one that runs to the injector rail (8V digi). It was leaking a few months back where it went into the rail and I 'repaired' it by cutting a bit off the end and changing the clip. Now it's leaking again but at the other end!  So i've decided to change the whole thing.

I've done a search and it appears I need 8mm hoses. But GSF only sell 7mm and 9mm. Which am I better off with? Thanks for any help.

Why does it have to be gsf? Just go to your local autofactors

Not 100% sure on Digi, but on my K-jet, the silliest thing I did was bodge the repair on the fuel line and use ordinary fuel hose - I think it cost me more in petrol than the replacement OEM pipe from VAG did.

If you can still get the original part, do it, last thing you want is a trail of fuel coming out your car!

Digi is very different to K-junk - it runs lower pressure, so with good quality hoses and clamps it'll be fine.
