Title: trouble with ipod

Happy new year to everyone!

Had my gti from new,bought in sept 07, fitted with rcd500 and ipod connector in the center console.

I recently got a ipod nano(4th gene I think)....however having trouble getting to work, it seems to power up when connected, but no sound....looked in the instruction books, not sure it is in English!!( not very tech minded!!!)....just wondering if anyone can help!!

Does any other i pod work in the car??

I have only got one Ipod!....so can't try another
