Happy New year to you all. Best wishes for 2009!
Off late I've been noticing that whilst doing 3point turns or 6points on my street as it's so narrow, my steering doesn't feel as smooth when turning left. I'm aware that there were steering issues on some models of MKV. It doesn't feel like it's grinding or anything like that but doesn't seem as smooth for some reason. Could it be the cold weather that might cause this? I recently had my servicing done at 6k miles as my in car comp kept telling me that servicing was due. I've started to notice it after the servicing. Perhaps totally unrelated, I don't know.
Nothing is noticeable whilst driving normally around twisty roads etc. Is it something to be concerned about???
Cheers.

I'm starting to wonder if I may have a similar issue, but only really noticed it at very low speed. I could be imagining it though! :undecided:
Has anyone got a link to a summary of these "steering issues"?
Cheers.

I have noticed hearing (but not feeling) a grinding type noise when I use full-lock left/right and go very slowly (slower than walking space). It could be just the sound of the tyres on the rough ground but I'm not sure.

Not convinced it's the steering wheel since it only happens when the car is on full lock and I then edge forwards under cluctch control.
Doesn't happen whilst turning the wheel while the car is in motion or if the car is stationary.
Will have a play about over the weekend.

Glad someone has commented on this, as during the last week, my has been playing up during parking manoueveres, first thought it was the tyres but the pressure warning hasn't gone off, and concluded it was steering related and when the temperatures have been very low. :undecided:
