Post by: SteveGolf1990 on 31 December 2008, 18:34
hi all

my names stephen im 18 and im from bath (nr bristol)

im new here so i thought id show you my motors!!

well i only started driving in april and sinse then i managed to have 4 cars...

here some pics and info about each....

1st car (still own)
1.0L mk3 polo coupe... used before i passed my test, was going to be my first car after i passed my test but then i got the mk2 golf.

2nd car (swapped for mk4 golf last week!)
my beloved mk2 golf 1.6 cl, i passed my test in this car and loved it to bits... this too was a bargain cost me £200 and only had 60000 on the clock when i got it!! it was owned by an old man! i did a few things to it like the big bumpers and spolier and other small bits but nothing major.

3rd car (still own)
my spotless mk2 1.3 4 speed jetta! Love it and it was an absolute steal... i got it on ebay for £250, inside its spotless and its only covered 58000 miles so its not even run in yet lol

and now im currently running a mk4 golf 1.4 which i swapped my mk2 golf for...
its needs a lot of work done (paint wise- i have managed to pick quite alot of it off so far, iv only had it just over a week!) but it so much more economical and i spend less than half the amount in fuel then i did with the mk2! so im happy

i feel a small project coming with the mk4, also it aint that slow for a 1.4, probably quiker than my 1.6 mk2!
i plan to peel the green of and have it silver as underneath... im also on the look out from new bumpers and maybe doors if they are cheap enough for it in silver, anyone have any give us a shout!

well there you go thats me and my collection... hope you all like!!

cheers,
steve

Welcome, but Yeah, what on earth did the previous owner do to that Mk4?!

Was it house paint with a brush? You shouldn't be able to peel off car paint, surely ?

Anyway, good project, get a thread up for it, and get it painted, then work on the power
