Title: New Member from Kent! With a Jazz Blue Mk4 GTI
Post by: BaV on 31 December 2008, 12:59
Hi everyone been looking on this forum for a while now so thought i may aswel sign up and start posting!  I am also on www.uk-mkivs.net

I've got a 2001 Jazz Blue 3dr 1.8T AUM GTI and love it!  At the moment its prety standard but havent had it long!  Its got a Forge 007p Divert valve and a Stainless steel cold air induction kit.  Ordered a Forge Blue TIP yesterday so hopefully that will come in the next few days for me to fit.  Then i will be thinking about exhaust and remap.

Just put some Montreall ll alloys on it that when i find a cheap wheel refurbisher i am going to get powder coated Anthracite.  Then its going to be some jamex coilovers.

Will take a few pics later and get them up!

Richard

Welcome, just brought a 20v turbo myself. Plans sound good keeping an oem theme to it etc, what makes your induction kit pal.

cheers guys, my induction kit is only a cheap one off ebay but in my opinion its just as good as any other long tracked cold air induction kit on the market, and it sounds awsome makes the Forge 007p sound nice and loud.

Its this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/COLD-AIR-INDUCTION-INTAKE-1-8T-GOLF-JETTA-GTI-OCTAVIA_W0QQitemZ200292666003QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item200292666003&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

Pic of it fitted on my car:

Sweet! When you detailed your car what did you use?

I'm after someone with a Megs machine polisher.

Yea i need to get my car porter cabled aswel mate i only hand detailed it the other day, and didnt do it particularly well as i ran out of will power due to the short days!  I used Mainley Meguiars Products with a few Auto Glym Bits aswel.

First i Snow Foamed the car and treated the wheels with some meguiars Hot Rims, then jet washed it all off.  Then used two bucket method with a strong mix of Meguiars NXT Gen Wash to wash the whole car.  Then rinsed off with hose and dried with two Meguiars water magnets.  Then moved the car inside and dried off any run marks that were caused by moving the car.  Then i used Auto Glym Glass Polish on all of the windows inside and out and also the mirrors.  After this i started on the paint first i used Meguiars Deep Crystal Step 1 paint cleaner. Then Auto Glym Ultra Deep Shine, and then Meguiars Carnauba Wax.

But you can still see the swirl marks in the paint, which is why in the summer i am going to pay and get it proffessionally paint corrected.

Same probably buy a Megs G220 and learn to do it myself! I used a similar method but with PoorBoys wax and was very impressed with the results! Yours looked good...used to hate Jazz Blue but like it more and more I see it!
