Hi,
Can someone explain the correct way to adjust Xenons? I've seen people here mention that the correct way is to use VAG-COM but on top of the lights there are two adjustment screws marked UD (up/down) and LR (left/right). Are these an alternate method or should they be used together?
I've tried the adjustment screws on their own and while they do seem to have some effect the range, when dipped, is still poor.
Thanks,

are they factory fit, they are self levelling if they are, why do you need to adjust them, you replaced 1?

They are factory fit and they do self level when first switched on. When I first had the car they were way too high (gettin flashed every night) so I had them adjusted at the dealers. They came back too far over to the left and now on the low side so rather than waste time taking it back I was hoping to adjust myself with the screws.

I see, not sure its something that really should be tackled guessing, be best to get it set up at garage where they have the equipment to align everything spot on, unless you you do have that set up off course

looks like you adjust the screws then get the ECU to remember the setting

VCDS (Vagcom) is used to 'switch off' the headlight self level ecu. Then you adjust lights with the screws. Switch ECU back on and it takes new light position as being the self adjust height datuum.

You have to set the ecu to "adjustment", then manually adjust the headlamps, then press ok on vag-com .

IIRC you should be on a level surface with the handbrake off too.
