A friend of mine has a seat with the same engine PD - a taxi it has over 250000 on it

Still pulls like a train has had a new turbo and few bit and pieces obviously.

As long as is has service history and has been looked after it should be fine. :afro:

My 1.8T petrol has 128000 and is sweet as a nut

Yeah, thats true.

Not to sure on PD engines but the 1.8T is pretty much bullet proof . . . . . . .

Mine is a T reg GT TDI (AHF engine, non PD). I bought it 3 years ago with 150000 miles on the clock.
It now has 199000 miles on it and, touch wood, I have had no problems. Just the normal servicing, clutch and exhaust downpipe which, frankly, you would have expected way before now anyway
