does 17"s ruin the handling of a golf, as my car fells like it is all over the road and doesnt handle at all
-
apparently, yes. iv never had any and wont get any cos of what ive heard. for performance stick to 15's ;)
-
Or go Euro with super wide 13's or 14's - wicked acceleration and huge levels of grip !
-
17's on a mk2 is all show and no go ;)]
stcik to phat wide 15's :)
-
thats that settled, i want some 15s :-*
-
how much you getting rid of those 17s for? :-*
-
i dunno yet :-*
got any 15s?
-
naw, i got 14" bbs on mine, handles like a f**kin F1 car on crack! :D
but i seen your 17s and they look real nice, let me kno when your getting rid,
either that or some ponal turbos, very sweet 8)
-
mk2's handle pretty well in stock form ;)
-
Mine handles alright on 17's, but yes it did handle better on 15's. looks a lot better though ;D
-
My car handles nicly on 15s, A friend has a 16V on 19s :o
-
I've experimented with several wheel and tyre combos in the past and I have to say that in my opinion I do prefer 17's.
Tyres fouling the wheel arches at the front is a bit of a problem if you run standard arches, and aceleration is compromised.
Taking things on a bit further, the weight of bigger wheels can be a disadvantage to general performance and handling. Unsprung weight=bad :'(

Not if you fit larger rims in order to fit bigger breaks ;) Faster breaking = More time at higher speeds ;)
