I went dow the scrappy to look for some MK3 bits, and I saw some Hella quads. They were geniune Hella and he said £50 for the pair. He didn't seem to think they were special at all. Just wondering whether it's worth it or not? Might get the money form my dad and then sell them. I want them but don't have the cash.
-
If in good condition deffo worth it, sell for bout £100 on the bay.
-
Cool. Might go get them then.
-
The last 5/6 pairs on ebay have all gone for over £100, the lost I have seen was £160 a pair.
-

-
Lol, you intereseted in them?
I'd let them go for a fellow forumer for £80. I'll phone them now. They shut at 5:30.
-

I sold mine to a forum member for £95, still seem to be silly money on ebay however.
-
Wayned,
why do you seem to buy so many thing for your mk3, then sell them?
lol just curious
-
He's never happy ;)
LOL!
There are two types of the Hella Twins, non smoked and smoked. Both almost exactly the same just the smoked ones have smoked lenses and also the sidelights have like a crosshair type thing going on, looks cool mind you. :)
-
LOL i want smoked items
-
Got mine for £37 today at a scrap yard.
-
Condition with these is paramount. The adjusters are the weakest part and often crack.TYC copies look the part but are of inferior quality although they can still be bought new.

Tbh I think standard headlights look best on the Mk3
-
I'll probably end up getting bored with them, then I'll sell them and immediately want some more. I'm quite easily bored. But for £37 you can't go wrong.
-
I first bought Mk4 style hated them. Then bought Morrette twins and they just looked odd. Standard lights look nice if the car is set up correctly.
-
How do you mean 'set up correctly'?
-
Type of alloys you have, how your suspension is set up, how wide your wheels are etc. Whether you have fog lights, Kamei air ducts etc.
-
I get ya now
-
Also whether your Hellas are colour coded which I personally think looks ace
-
Considering doing that eventually.
-
I guess part of the joy about doing cars up is trying different things out. Can always change it
-
That's the best part of car ownership, I don't want car to look like every other mk3,gti out there.
-
No of course not. I am the same
