hi there
i wonder if any 1 could help me i am after the unit code for the cd player and satnav,
i have looked in the owners manule but know good, i know its 4 digite and only numbers,
the car is a 55reg golf gti euro import with satnav and dics changer

This probaly aint going to help! but when I disconnected my battery I forgot to ask the dealer for the radio code, I then rang up and they said it didn't require a code for connecting the battery back up!
But you probaly got different circumstances!?.

Yup, from what i understand the car will recognise the stereo that was fitted in the factory (no need to input a code if you disconnect the stereo for whatever reason) . If the stereo originated from a different car then the code is required. With my 07 Gti the code came with the car in the stereo manual . Earlier this year I retro fitted an RCD 510 removed from my neighbours Tiguan. But the code didn't come with his new car. In order to get the code he had to return to the dealer, have it hooked up to their computer and receive the code from the factory in Germany. This is probably as a result, allegedly , of a number of RNS510 being diverted off the factory line for the black market !!

Look in the VW wallet that you should have with all the service manuals in. They should have given you a credit card sized slip with the serial code of the unit and the 4 digit code you need :nerd:
