Title: Quick question about removing steering wheel

I've searched as best i can but can't find the answer i'm after  :sad:

Now i'm a first timer at stripping a car and i'm stuck here:

How do you move the gold plate to get to the nut?

Probs really simple and stupid but i couldn't get round it  :embarassed:

Pull it/prise the whole plastic bit it out, the lugs push fit in the holes. Ben

use a large flat screw driver and be carefull not to brake it. Then its a 24mm nut ( i think ). mark on the spline when you take the wheel off as it never seems to go back on straight.  :smiley:

I did try that earlier but got worried that i'd break something, shall give it a go tomorrow  :smiley:

I had the same issue with mine, was worried of snapping it!

Need to find one of those gold plates with the foam for my jetta.. I've stuck the one on from my golf to get it through it's MOT!
