Hi just bought a Mk3 golf without even looking at it!!!!! its a gti (16v i think) with a coilpack bust, so should be able to pick one up on ebay for a reasonable price, cost me £50. i am 17 and own 7 cars now and household has about 15 just a bit of a car nut  :grin: :grin:

ain't going to be for me to drive will probably sell it to family or just put it in autotrader. would hate to think what it would be  :sad: would drive it if i could afford insurance. my 1.4 metro is £1500!!!

Fook I thought my shed Fiat Uno was bad when I past my test that was £800  :shocked:

coilpack change is a 5 min job aint it?? where is it in the golfs, i am a bit of a noob with modern cars.

Havent changed them before mate but dont think tehy take that long put a post up in the MK3 section.  :smiley:

coilpack is an easy replace, its at the back under the bonnet. like directly under the windscreen, small balck box. undo the two bolts holding it on, unplug it. and do the same in reverse.

think i had to remove my plastics that go between the windscreen and bonnet, held on by 3 plugs.

whole job takes about 10mins :)
