Title: Snap..crackle!
Post by: Goops on 15 December 2008, 12:22
Started up the valver in the morning and she was "missing" slightly on throttle..

Anyway drove for about 5 minutes and it wouldnt stop doing this, opened the bonnet on the hardshoulder and heard this crackling..
Ther was sparks jumping between the 2nd sparkplug and inlet manifold??
I cleaned up with a cloth and wedged the rubber sideways and this stopped it.

Whats the cause of this? Moisture buildup?
Do i need to replace the plugs?? :undecided:

ta in advance!

Sounds like new leads needed, rather than anything else - it sounds like the shielding on them has broken down.

As per DH... When mine did this, the insulation on the leads had failed.

As above, insulation. Quick fix is some insulation tape if you got some handy.

DH i'm not fond of you but your sig is absolutely legendary!
