Don't get me wrong, for the money step 3 is sound and I've used it with good results, but for a bit more cash there are better products out there.

I have been polishin my car nearly every sunday morning since i got my car back on the road 3 years ago, How often would i need 2 polish and wax it with meguiars system

You only really need to polish once every 4-6 months. Waxing depends on what wax you buy but normally wax every 2-3 months.

Once you've done all the hard work of wax and polish all you should need to do for a while is wash and wipe to bring it back up. Then you could also use a bit of speed detailer to top up the wax finish.
