what is wrong with bernie ecclestone!

it's a stupid idea grandad , let it go , no-one wants it ffs!!!!!

24-26 cars on a grid and only maybe 10 would have any chance of scoring anything at all.

FFS Bernie just drop it!

As far as I'm concerned it's pretty exciting at the moment anyway.

Bernie usually does whats best for the sport but that is a stupid idea. The lower teams who havnt had a win all year would get half way through the season and just pack up and go home, it would be so pointless! Sponsorship would only favor the winning teams and the smaller teams would have no money at all for development.

But at the end of the day i dont own F1. Bernie does, and what Bernie says goes.

Bernie should tuck himself in bed and hand over the crown, his mummification process is starting to show in his ideas.

what you need is a two tier championship.  Let's give the lesser teams some incentive.

it wouldn't work.

The sponsors would pull out and only work with the "Tier 1" teams.  The Tier 2 teams would have a smaller budget ergo slower cars.

The tier 2 champion who is promoted would have no chance of competing.  So in reality all you'd have is a smaller "F1" grid.

why would they pull out?  If anything, the lesser teams would earn more sponsorship because they'd get more coverage due to winning something.

Work the tiers on team budgets.

Why, as a broadcaster, would you pay for the "tier 2 " rights?

I dont see F2 on tv.  (granted I dont have " we do this in a cupboard watching a video of it " Eurosport)
