I had that once, turned out there was a fire earlier in the day in the area.  :laugh: Mad me cack myself

on a more serious note...
are all the elecs working? have you popped the bonnet to check if it's coming from the bay? smell each tyre just to see if it gets worse near any of them. Have the bearings been playing up at all? I had my bearings (housing only as the round thingys were no where to be seen!) seize up on the sub axle and didn't realise until I got back from Wolverhampton (110miles  :lipsrsealed: ) but there was an aweful smell when I stopped at the services.
Passat B5.5 2.3 V5 170, with all the extras.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

the daily will do 120 according to the clocks (which are about 5mph out) no problem but its NOISY!!

i blame the 4 branch manifold and powerflow exhaust...  :rolleyes:


I don't think a semi will give the same results

To be honest I don't speed on motorways much as its the prime place to get caught. I'm enjoy country lanes much more!!

i know my rear wheel bearing is making a noise, also, my fan belt squeels like a pig just before slaughtering

just done a maryport to chester trip and sat at about 80 comfortably. did have a little play once or twice (on a provate road of course) flew up to 120, was nice and steady too!

On a private road I've seen close to 130 from my 8V. Got there pretty quickly too. :smiley:

I have hit the rev limiter in fifth (129mph) . mk2 20vt on 8v gearbox :laugh: private road of course
